Asbestos Abatement
What is Asbestos?
Asbestos is a universal term given to a combination of minerals known for their heat and flame resistance, indestructible qualities, and strength. These minerals have been used for decades in the development of thousands of commercial products including insulation and fireproofing materials, textile products, and cement and wallboard materials. Although asbestos was banned by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the 70's, it is still found in many residential and commercial settings and continues to pose a health risk to workers and others.
"Persons exposed to asbestos have developed several types of the life-threatening diseases, including cancer."
Health Risks
Asbestos is indestructible. It is extremely harmful to the body, because the human body is unable to break down, change or digest asbestos. But the symptoms of diseases, which are related to asbestos, often occur long after the person has been exposed, therefore eliminating the hazardous material as soon as it is discovered is critical and must be done by a qualified professional.
